Shame doesn’t cancel your calling. God still sees you. God still wants you.

Scripture Focus:

“But the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’” – Genesis 3:9

🔍 1. The Word Unfolded

Adam and Eve had just eaten from the tree God commanded not to eat from, realized they were naked, and ran to hide in shame. And here comes God—not with wrath, but with a question.

God’s not confused. He’s not asking where they are physically—He’s asking, where are you relationally.

“Where are you?” = Why are you hiding from Me? Why are you hiding from yourself?

God wasn’t trying to expose them to punish them. He was exposing the lie they’d believed: that shame should separate them from LOVE.

👉🏽 Shame says, "You blew it. You're done."

Love says, "You’re still mine. Come home."

Shame hides. Love calls.

Even after falling short, God’s first move wasn’t rejection—it was connection.

💫 3. The Mirror Moment

Let’s get real: Where are you hiding?

Behind the image?

The makeup?

The perfectionism?

Behind the “I’m fine” mask when you feel like you’re falling apart?

Shame tricks you into thinking you have to clean yourself up before you come to God. But God came looking for Adam while he was still covered in fig leaves.

You don’t have to fix yourself to be found. You just have to answer.

✨ Journal Prompt: Where am I hiding right now? What fear, failure, or wound have I let define me more than God’s truth?

🔑 Affirmation: “I am not defined by shame—I am found by Love. God knows where I am and still chooses me.”

🙏🏽 5. Prayer of Reconnection

God, I’ve spent too long hiding in fear—pretending I’m okay while quietly carrying shame. But Your Word shows that you are the One who'll come looking for me. Even when I fall, You still call. I won’t let shame be my identity. I step out of hiding and back into Your love. I am not too broken. I am not too late. You still want me. And I say yes. Amen.
