The Lesson Idea:

Let’s get right to it: ACIM Lesson 1 isn’t here to comfort our ego. It’s here to blow it wide open.

"Nothing I see means anything." Not some things. Not the painful ones or even the pretty ones.

Nothing. Why? Because we’re not seeing the world. We’re seeing our projections—tinted hallucinations dressed up as "I know what this means" or facts.

Our pain, our past, our programming—all playing out on a loop.

Let’s talk cognitive distortion—specifically: Filtering.

We fixate on one thing (the threat, the loss, the letdown) and build our worldview around it. But ACIM takes it further: we're not just filtering.

We're projecting our belief system onto everything we see.

  • Practice: Choose one object, situation, or person. Say out loud: "I gave this or them, all the meaning it has for me."

  • Journal Prompt: What’s one belief you're using as a filter today? Write it. Question it. Ask, "What if this never meant what I thought it did?"

Integration Challenge:

Pick a random object or person around you. Look at it and strip it down:

"This doesn’t mean what I thought it meant."

“My judgment about them doesn’t mean anything—because it’s just a reflection of my own filtered perception.”

Let the ego scream. Let it scramble for control.

However, we can just breathe.

This is the beginning of waking up....
